CHILDREN & TEACHERS MAKING STORIES & FANTASY: GIANNI RODARI'S REGGIO EMILIA LECTURES & THEIR MEANING FOR US

For adults who want to help children (ages 3+) tell wonderful stories

This special workshop allows participants to return to their classrooms prepared to provoke children into making stories.

Adapted from the work of Gianni Rodari (The Grammar of Fantasy, translated  from Italian into English for the first time in 1996)  who gave a series of lectures in Reggio Emilia, Italy, in 1971, showing teachers and parents of young children  how to take the elements that make a good story and give them to children, like blocks for building.

As powerful as Vivian Paley's Storyplaying, and as easy to implement, the children will learn to make stories out of the stories they already know, just as music is made of the notes we already know.

It's very amazing, it's easy, it's practical, it's liberating, it's fun. Participants in the workshop will leave able to help children make up their own stories the very next day.
